Travelling around the U.K.? You might want to ditch bigger hotels for a while as a bed and breakfast (B&B), and other similar inexpensive hotels near Warrington or Northwich might be the best choice. SavingAdvice.com writer Amy L. Fontinelle relates her experience during her first time to stay in a B&B in this excerpt from her article.
“I recently stayed in a bed and breakfast for the first time. I was a little worried about the impending experience because of some of the negative stereotypes I had heard about ‘bed and breakfasts’ in the past such as having horribly tacky décor and forced socialisation with bizarre strangers (Gilmore Girls, anyone?) A little to my surprise, I ended up finding it to be a wonderful experience.”
Let’s explore the specific advantages of a B&B stay that make it a good choice of accommodation.
You will always pay less than a grand hotel. B&B’s and other affordable hotels in Northwich or near Warrington will definitely cost less than four-star, five-star or similar luxury hotels. Also, towns like Warrington and Northwich (while not exactly major destinations for tourists) are located less than 30 minutes away from bustling cities like Chester, Liverpool and Manchester where you could easily pay upwards of £300 per night for a city centre hotel room.
Most amenities are free and more than enough. Who says that complimentary parking and concierge services are only for luxurious hotels? Several B&Bs offer such services and more, including free Wi-Fi access, local gym membership, and even discounts at local restaurants.
You get a freshly cooked, homemade breakfast. Large hotels often cater for many guests so breakfasts are often pre-cooked and simply warmed through. It’s all about scale; preparing great food for 20 guests is far easier than doing the same for 200. Where a continental breakfast is the preferred option it is also true that large hotels can offer no advantage over a smaller establishment. With B&B’s, homemade breakfasts are often included in your budget-friendly accommodation package, and like most meals cooked at home, breakfasts in B&Bs are sure to be fresh. Many B&B’s will pride themselves on the use of local produce.
You can easily socialise with other guests. If you’re the type of person who’s always looking to meet new people while staying away from home, a B&B is the perfect place for you. Its relatively smaller, more intimate size makes it easier for anyone to have a simple conversation with their fellow guests any time of the day.
If you are near Warrington or Northwich a lot more is in store for you if you try a B&B like Happy Guests Lodge. This article, while aiming to be informative, is not enough. You should go and experience staying in a lovely B&B yourself; you will never look back.
