Cool Budget Hotels in Warrington
Cool Budget Hotels in Warrington
Hotels across the UK are slowly waking up to the fact that more and more Guests want to stay COOL! There is a backlash against the Corporate Sameness of the big chains such as Premier Inn and Travel Lodge, with fresh new options starting to become available across the whole of the UK.
Tune Hotels have created a big impact in London, Easy Hotels are slowly moving across the UK and independents such as NiteNite in Birmingham and Happy Guests Lodge in Warrington are also having a big impact on this trend.
So what makes one hotel Boring and another hotel Cool?
Well they usually start with colour – a Cool Hotel wouldn’t have a beige wall within 10 miles of it – usually using bright primary colours. Their aim is not to be forgotten in a hurry and this is a great way to stand out from the hotel crowd. They also focus on ensuring that there is instant impact from the relaxed smile at the front desk to the unexpected and often FREE extras that set them apart. However they also look after the basic building blocks of a good hotel stay, usually providing Big TVs, FREE Wi-Fi, great Beds, powerful Showers, etc. They also often create a powerful array of differences on the service front with added Guest flexibility – with options for early and late check in/out, free Room Service, etc.
Although many of these hotels are in the South of England, there is one that is causing a big impact in the North West of England – Happy Guests Lodge. Based in Warrington, Cheshire, it is committed to ensuring its Guests pay less for more – indeed its strap line is Budget Does Not Have to Be Boring! We took a closer look!
The impact starts when you walk into its spacious Reception – WOW – its striking orange and green colour scheme ensure it really does stand out from the hotel crowd – no one could possibly describe HGL as Boring or Corporate. We were also met with a friendly and professional smile and check-in was seamless. Within 5 minutes we were walking into our 25 mt Sq Bedroom – we had opted for a Superior Room –however I am told that all rooms are the same size. Our room has a Big HD 40 Channel TV, a Big Orange Sofa, a fantastic Trim phone, an I-Pod Docking Station with Digital Radio, a Big Green Ice Clock – how Cool is that! A great Bed and fantastic night’s sleep was also to follow.
I tried the FREE Room Service – I just had to pick up and use that Trim Phone! The food was great, local butcher’s Steak & Kidney Pie and Cheshire Farm Chips!
The WiFi was fast and Free – which is a real bonus.
Breakfast the next day was extensive and a refreshing mix of a UK and USA style Continental Breakfast with everything from Waffles to Crumpets and even a couple of hot options thrown in – Heinz Baked Beans and Quaker Oats Porridge! This is certainly a hotel that falls into the Cool Category – indeed you can even book Happy the resident Goldfish for a night – subject to a small charge – a service that seems to be going well!
It is also well rated by its Guests, being the highest Guest Rated Accommodation provider in the area across all 3 Major Review Sites – Trip Advisor, Booking.com and Laterooms! This is part of just one review published just this week –
This hotel is soooo cool! My husband, 2 children and I stayed 1 night … we were welcomed at reception, shown to our room and then took charge of ‘happy’ the resident gold fish. Fantastic idea. Our kids didn’t care about anything as mesmerised by happy all evening and following morning. Bunk beds and large double bed kept us comfy (the bed was comfiest ive slept in). breakfast was served in a bright and zingy coloured room….good selection of cereals/crumpets/croissants/ bread/juices/..we paid extra for bacon and sausage baps….extremely tasty. This hotel is novel and definitely unique…a hidden gem that is highly recommended.
All this and Rooms from just £46.95 per night – Check It Out!!
The future for these Cool Budget Hotels seems to be as bright as their colour schemes – with Guests seeking out something a little different, it looks to be a trend that is set to continue.
